Dental Crowns are designed to be used as a ‘cap’ to a damaged tooth. They cover the visible portion of the tooth and can also be used to help protect a tooth from further damage. They are also often used in conjunction with other treatments – for example, we often use them to support a bridge, as the final stage of a root canal treatment, or to protect a tooth with a large filling.
After your initial consultation during which we will determine whether or not a crown is the correct course of action for you, we will take a scan of the mouth and the tooth being treated. This scan will then create a digital image of your tooth and be sent off to the dental laboratory where your crown will be made by highly trained technicians. Each dental crown is made for each individual patient and tooth and we can also shade match it to fit in with the rest of your teeth.
Our dental team is highly experienced and approaches every crown with an artistic eye that helps ensure the finish is both natural-looking, functional and comfortable. In this way, a crown can not only help restore function to your tooth but can help enhance and emphasise your naturally brilliant smile.
