Six Month Smiles uses clear brackets and tooth-coloured wires to create a less obtrusive orthodontic experience for the patient. Designed to straighten out a smile in as little as six months, the exact length of the treatment can vary according to the position of the teeth at the beginning of the treatment. This means that some patients can wear their braces for up to nine months.
If you decide to go ahead with Six Month Smiles, we will fit you for your braces here at Wimbledon Dental Wellness. You will then have to come into the practice regularly so that we can check their comfort and fit and that everything is moving in the right direction. The exact number of these appointments varies, but it’s usually between three and seven. If you do not come to these appointments, then the overall treatment time may be much longer and the success of the treatment may be compromised.
Once you have worn your braces for the required amount of time, we will remove them for you here at the practice and you will be able to go home with a happier, straighter smile. We will also recommend a retainer at this point to help prevent the teeth from moving back towards their original position.
