If you are missing a single tooth, then there are a variety of options open to you, including a single tooth dental implant. These implants are comprised of a metal peg – usually made of titanium – that is implanted into the jaw and then acts as a new root for a prosthetic tooth.
The treatment usually takes place over several appointments and we have to allow a few months in between the application of the implant and of the final tooth. This is so that we can be sure the implant has properly fused with the bone.
Before receiving your implant, we will also have to ascertain that you are a viable candidate. This is because for an implant to be successful, there must be enough healthy bone present. This is normally done by x-ray and a CT scan.
