Our dedicated and experienced team of dental professionals know just how important it is to detect any kind of cancer in the early stages, especially mouth cancer. Luckily, we can easily and gently perform mouth cancer screenings during a routine dental appointment.
We will simply gently examine the mouth for red or white patches, any swellings, sores or other abnormalities that may be present. If we do find anything that causes us concern, then we will either ask you to return for a follow-up appointment or refer you to a specialist for further examination.
We recommend performing this screening every six months as cancers can spread very rapidly. This is another reason why it is so important to maintain regular dental check-ups here, even if your teeth and gums appear to be in good health.
